Surroundings
Located close to
the B&B are the Portico Petretto and the parish
Church of St Nicholas, built in the 14th Century in
the Gothic-Catalan style. A few kilometers away, guests may
visit the characteristic Aragonese watchtowers “Dieci
Cavalli”, “ Salinas”, “Capo Ferrato”
and “Cala Pira”.
Muravera is located slightly inland from the coast where the
first settlements, going back to the Neolithic period, were
formed. The menhir, huge, thick vertically-placed
stones with precise astronomical mappings used in cult worship,
are thought to be from this period, and are easily accessible
within the archaeological zones of Piscina Rei and Cuili Piras.
The nuraghe
“S’Omu e s’Orcu” (trans.
“The House of
the Ogre”) can be found in Santa Giusta, close to Castiadas.
Finally, one may visit the “Domus de Janas” (“The
House of the Fairies”), in which the pre-nuraghic
civilisation
buried their dead.
